Police National Headquarters, Wellington

Permanent, Full-Time

Salary Range $67,261 - $91,000

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Professional to join the People and Capability Group based at Police National Headquarters, Wellington.


This challenging role will see you successfully engage with managers and leaders to coach and support them to be at the heart of the employment relationship whilst assisting them in their people related objectives and challenges in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Your ability to quickly build solid and credible working relationships will be critical to your success. Through carefully prioritising a busy workload and working in collaboration with other People and Capability functions, you will provide a wide variety of technical HR advice and options to support the business in Change Management, Performance Management, Disciplinary and other employment matters.  


You will be part of a high performing, collaborative and supportive national team. No day will be the same and you will get exposure to a variety of issues and workgroups in a unique environment. Skills and experience - the successful applicant must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A successful track record working as an HR specialist within a complex operational environment, including managing risks and issues
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships across a broad range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise a busy workload ensuring high levels of service are maintained
  • Experience supporting others and contributing to a positive team environment


Special requirement:

  • Applicants must hold a relevant tertiary qualification

  • The successful applicant must reside in Wellington
