Senior Teaching & Learning Advisor: Assessment and Evaluation

Remuneration range: $90,233.00 - $122,082.00

The position of Senior Teaching and Learning Advisor: Assessment and Evaluation, is a key role for the Royal New Zealand Police College (RNZPC). 

You will lead the Assessment and Examination group which coordinates the standards, quality and administration of examinations conducted by the RNZPC including the Core Policing Knowledge (CPK) examinations. The group also administers examinations across the College. 

You will also lead the Training Evaluation function within the RNZPC.  Training Evaluation is a key deliverable for the RNZPC as a Government Training Establishment and is critical to continuous improvement as well as learning transfer, behavioural change and return on investment.  

You will have specialist knowledge of examination theory and practice as well as training evaluation within a Government Training Establishment.  You will have a track record as a leader and training professional.

You will lead the delivery of examinations and training evaluation to support NZ Police Our Business goals focused on:

  • 25% reduction in reoffending by Māori by 2025

You will utilise Agile project management systems and processes as part of your day to day work. 

 

Skills:

  • Creative and self-motivated, easy to work with and able to satisfy stakeholders and business owners
  • Skills designing, developing and administrating examinations including multi choice question design
  • Skills designing and delivering multi-level training evaluations at scale to a large and diverse workforce    

 

Experience:

  • Experience in Agile systems and processes an advantage
  • Experience applying examination theory and designing statistically robust examinations
  • Experience managing the training evaluation function within a large diverse workforce including delivery which demonstrates return on investment and impacts on strategic outcomes for the business

 

Knowledge

  • Understanding of the strategic direction of NZ Police
  • Depth knowledge of examination theory, practice and moderation
  • Depth knowledge of training evaluation theory and practice
  • Knowledge of Learning Management systems success as Success Factors
  • A formal qualification at undergraduate level or Masters level preferred, preferably in education, training design or related disciplines or at least 3 years' equivalent experience
