The Public Affairs Team at Police National Headquarters seeks a talented Senior Communications professional to join our team in Wellington.

This is a Senior Communications role in which you will support the strategic aims of New Zealand Police at a national level. You will develop and deliver communications strategies and initiatives as well as providing strategically-focused advice to the Police executive and senior management.

This is a challenging and rewarding role in a high performing and highly visible public sector organisation. You will be joining a busy team who work on sensitive and high profile issues which matter to New Zealanders.


Skills & Experience:

You will have strong skills and experience at a senior level and will be able to demonstrate:

  • Good working knowledge of the public sector environment
  • Demonstrated ability in modern public relations practice
  • Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
  • Some knowledge of marketing and advertising processes


Special Requirements:

  • Must have or be able to attain a government security clearance to Secret level
