We are looking for the newest members of our Police recruiting family to join our established Tämaki Makaurau NZ Police recruitment team. We have two exciting opportunities available: a permanent role and a 12 month fixed term role to cover maternity leave.

As a Selection Specialist you will join a team who are based in Otahuhu who solely deliver new Police recruits to the Police College.  We intend to move to Greenlane later this year - so your ability to travel to this new location is required.

A prerequisite to application is recruitment experience in the role of a consultant, preferably honed within a volume applicant environment. Our team work in a fast paced and high volume setting, where attention to the smallest detail, and observation and adherence to process is paramount. As a Selection Specialist you will work with 40 + applicants at any one time, all at differing steps of the selection process and as such you will be able to build a real rapport with your applicant as you take them through their recruitment journey.

This is a highly varied position - you'll spend time with Police in district 'getting to know our business' initially and in an ongoing capacity, requiring you to be highly articulate and to present well, to a highly varied group of sworn and non- sworn stakeholders.  The role entails anything from; face to face interviewing, running academic assessment days, assessing risk, booking your candidates into physical assessments, into Police distance learning, writing comprehensive summaries, and all aspects of ATS management.

You will utilise a range of technologies and deliver high-quality outcomes.  A high grade of computer literacy is essential.  You will jump between screens, and databases, and be able to maintain sound candidate care of applicants at differing parts of the 7- 12 month selection process.

This is a rare to market opportunity in Tämaki Makarau for an individual who is passionate about changing the face of the NZ Police, to join a highly successful brand, and an established, supportive (and really fun) team.

You will have current and extensive experience in end to end recruitment, and the use of recruitment tools. Being able to demonstrate sound knowledge and experience of behavioural based interviewing, psychometric assessment tools and their use in the selection process is essential.

Whilst Te Reo is not prerequisite to the application, a broad cultural competency is.  The capacity to bring your own cultural background, language and life skills will be highly valued and supported.
