Business Advisor Evidence Based Policing

Permanent, Full-time

Remuneration range: $62,925.00 - $85,139.00

Evidence-Based Policing (EBP) is about using information, crime-science and problem-solving methods to ensure that proven approaches and tactics inform our choices, are seen in the results, and provide confidence that what we do works.

EBP presents an opportunity for New Zealand Police to embed an evidence base into all of our operations. This is an opportunity to contribute to the formation of the newly created EBP Service Centre.

This new Business Advisor position will form part of a team that delivers EBP programmes and continuous improvement initiatives. The Business Advisor position will lead and contribute to the development and ongoing support of EBP programmes, forums, events and projects as well as providing project management support to projects across the EBP Service Centre.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate highly developed planning and organisational skills which allow multiple strands of programmes to be managed seamlessly. Taking a creative approach to problem-solving, the ability to focus on getting the details right while still maintaining the "big picture" view are all hallmarks of success.

  • An energetic, positive and pro-active approach to your work, with a willingness to "learn the way forward" 
  • Excellent written communication skills and the confidence communicating, building rapport and developing productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels of seniority
  • Experience developing and working to project plans including identifying activities, milestones, dependencies, proactively managing risks, and problem solving issues as they arise

Additional Information:

  • Successful applicant must reside in Wellington
  • The remuneration is for full-time (40 hours per week) hours which will be pro-rated if the employee is engaged for less than 40 hours per week.
