People and Development / Training Administrator

Christchurch, City Campus

Fixed term, part time parental leave cover until 3 May 2019.

(0.53 FTE) 20 hrs per week (4 hrs/day M-F)

 

  •  Responsible for administrative support for capability area within Ara
  •      Provide governance support to capability systems
  •  Administrative back up and support across all People & Development functions

The Role

Our team is currently looking for an experienced administrator/coordinator to join our team to cover a period of parental leave. This is a part time role of 20 hours per week to be worked as 4 hours per day across five days per week (Monday to Friday). As part of People and Development your key focus will be to provide administrative support for the in-house training and professional development activities and wider People and Development functions.

It is anticipated that 0.5 of your time will be spent on training administration where you will:

  • Schedule, book and promote training sessions
  • Manage incoming calls, registrations and enquiries
  • Administer reporting and evaluation processes
  • Organise venues, catering, AV and other requirements

With 0.5 of your time providing support and back-up across the broader range of People and Development administrative functions as required. This may include:

  • Supporting People and Development projects
  • Recruitment and selection administration
  • Writing documentation – appointment letters, change in employment conditions etc.
  • Payroll processing support
  • Reception cover and general administration to support the needs of the team.

Skills/Experience

To undertake this role you will be a skilled administrator with excellent time management skills and may have experience in a similar role or have an interest in HR or training and development. You will bring to the role your excellent customer service and problem solving skills along with a high level of computer skills in the Microsoft Office suite.
