Receptionist/Administrator – Health Centre

Christchurch City Campus

Part time (21.5 hours per week), Permanent

 

  • Receptionist for Nursing, Medical, Physio, Counselling services
  • Administration: records, filing, accounts, invoices, data entry
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members

We are pleased to offer an opportunity to join a small dedicated team in the Student Services Division's Health Centre. The Health Centre is a member practice of Christchurch Primary Health Organisation.  The team provides a primary health care and limited occupational health service to students and staff of Ara Institute of Canterbury (Ara) in collaboration with medical practitioners and in association with counsellors.  The primary responsibility is the assessment, triage and treatment of presenting illnesses, accidents and emergencies, and assisting clients to make informed choices about their health.

The Role

The role is to deliver highly student focussed reception and administrative services in the Health Centre and to continually strive to achieve the highest standards.

Duties

  • Managing face-to-face and online requests
  • Prioritising needs
  • Booking appointments
  • Collecting fees
  • Maintaining records and filing systems
  • Preparing schedules
  • Liaison between multidisciplinary team members
  • Providing support for health promotion and education

Skills/Experience

  • Knowledge of current health administrative systems
  • A first aid certificate
  • Experience in a busy environment with the ability to multitask.
  • Works well with young people
  • A practice of working collaboratively with others.
  • Remains calm under pressure
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Experience using patient management systems, MedTech32 is preferred but not essential as training will be provided
