Permanent, Full-time

Remuneration range: $49,634.00 - $67,153.00

This is a nationally advertised vacancy for Frontline Station Support Officer within the Otago Coastal Area, based in Dunedin.

The purpose of a Frontline Station Support Officer is to provide operational and administrative support which includes (but is not limited to) customer service, file management, data entry and use of Police IT systems.  Every day you will be dealing with challenging situations which you will need to approach with professionalism, respect, empathy and a positive manner.  You will be part of a dedicated team with victim focus and standards of excellence in terms of service delivery.

Subject to operational requirements you may at times be required to work in other areas of Our Business within the District Headquarters.

 You will be welcoming customers, both internal and external into your front-of-house work area and ensuring their enquiries are understood and handled appropriately.  Training will be provided to the successful applicants by the supportive team around you.  This is a shift work position based at Dunedin Central Police Station.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Enter, update and report on high-volume files/documents/data entry processes
  • Prioritise work flow
  • Manage time effectively to complete multiple files and meet deadlines

 

Experience:

  • Demonstrate customer service skills and an ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience with computer applications (e.g. NIA, SAP, Microsoft Office)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in data entry, good time management and ability to prioritise effectively
  • Demonstrate an ability to stay calm and in control while maintaining a high level of performance in a pressure situation.

 

Special Requirements

  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo a vetting clearance prior to any offer of employment.
  • Must be able to work shift work.
