Remuneration range: $192,100.00 - $259,900.00

Police are introducing a new Investment System to support decision making and delivery of the Police transformation and change programme. The model includes an Investment Portfolio, Asset Management and Delivery Portfolio - aligning processes, capabilities, information and behaviours to improve decision making, deliver business change and to realise tangible benefits.

Adopting a more flexible approach, the new way of working includes an investment scale and risk approach and working with the business to develop and champion fit for purpose tools and practices. It also includes changes to our governance structures to provide the Commissioner of Police and Police Executive with a clear line of sight to strategic investment decisions.

The Director Transformation and Change is one of two new senior leadership positions tasked with bringing the new Investment Model to realisation. Working in partnership with the Director Investment Portfolio, the role provides strategic advice to the Police Executive and leads the delivery of programmes and projects across the Police Transformation and Change portfolio. Leading a team of delivery experts, they will establish and embed a Centre of Excellence for programme, project, change delivery and benefits realisation. 

The ideal candidate will have significant senior leadership experience and be able to demonstrate having worked with Executive Leaders to deliver significant organisational transformation and change. They will have experience leading through change, modelling innovation and working collaboratively with both internal leaders and managers and external partners.  A relevant post graduate qualification together with Project and Programme Management certifications are a requirement for the role.

The following experience and attributes are essential to be successful in this role:

  • Demonstrated success leading cross-organisational strategic initiatives to transform organisations.
  • Proven experience of providing strategic advice to executive and senior leaders in large complex operational organisations.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with and influence executive decision makers.

 

Special Requirements

  • To apply for this role you must be a NZ citizen or permanent resident
  • A relevant post graduate qualification in the field of business, management or applied social sciences.
  • Project and Programme Management certifications i.e. PRINCE2, PMP, MSP, PgMP.

  • The above remuneration is for full-time (40 hours per week) hours which will be pro-rated if the employee is engaged for less than 40 hours per week.
