Director Investment Portfolio

Remuneration range: $164,900 - $223,100

Police are introducing a new Investment System to support decision making and delivery of the Police transformation and change programme. The model includes an Investment Portfolio, Asset Management and Delivery Portfolio - aligning processes, capabilities, information and behaviours to improve decision making, deliver business change and to realise tangible benefits.

The Director Investment Portfolio is one of two new senior leadership positions tasked with bringing the new Investment Model to realisation. Working in partnership with the Director Transformation and Change, the Director Investment Portfolio will make visible across Police which change initiatives are pursued and why. 

The Investment Portfolio Office is a new capability for Police responsible for investment planning, selection and prioritisation as well as supporting investment decision makers. 

Leading a small team they will establish and embed the Investment Portfolio Office and develop new processes to manage investment decision making, reporting and analysis. The role will also support two new governance groups - a Budget and Investment Committee and the Police Investment Working Group.

The ideal candidate will have significant senior leadership experience and be able to demonstrate having provided expert advice to senior decision makers. They will have experience leading through change, modelling innovation and working collaboratively to establish and deliver an integrated approach to investment planning and management as well as the ability to lead and coordinate the Investor Confidence Rating process for NZ Police. A relevant post graduate qualification in business, management or finance is a requirement for the role.

  • Demonstrated success leading and improving integrated investment decision making in a transformation environment.
  • Proven experience leading capital investment planning.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with and influence executive decision makers.

 

Special Requirements

Additional Information:

  • Successful applicant must reside in the Greater Wellington region
  • The above remuneration is for full-time (40 hours per week) hours which will be pro-rated if the employee is engaged for less than 40 hours per week
