Training Team Manager (HR Systems)

New Zealand Police

Lower Hutt

Fixed Term 24 months, Full-time

Remuneration range: $90,233 - $122,082

We have an exciting opportunity for a Training Manager within our People & Capability Group (HR) to support HR Operations through the design and delivery of training for Police's Human Resources Information System (MyPolice) and related communications. You'll lead a team of passionate and committed learning professionals focused on enabling our people to deliver Our Business. The role is supporting the execution of our 24 month stabilisation plan and will be managing a team of two System Trainers, a Business Improvement Analyst and a Communications Advisor

We are looking for a People Leader who is passionate about enabling their team to produce engaging and effective learning interventions. You will lead your team from the front by assisting with and overseeing the development of 'end to end' training solutions from; needs analysis to the design, development, delivery and evaluation of training that enable both our HR Specialists, and end users, to perform their roles and interact with MyPolice with ease.

You'll have a natural ability to drive the best performance from your team and ensure a high quality product is delivered to the business. Additionally, you will be able to connect with any audience, build enduring relationships with subject matter experts, and in becoming a trusted partner for business owners. You will contribute to identifying and implementing people-centric training strategies, delivered in 'plain English' that leverage the potential of MyPolice.

As the successful candidate, you will need to be able to travel between both Police National Headquarters in Wellington and Lower Hutt. However, your main place of work will be in central Lower Hutt.

Skills:

 

  • Effectively engage with stakeholders to determine needs
  • Design and develop engaging, fit for purpose and achievable solutions
  • Present complex issues (written or verbal) clearly to a range of audiences
  • Facilitate technical training and skills workshops
  • Evaluate and implement changes to continuously improve outcomes

 

 

Experience:

 

  • Experience in coaching, mentoring and leading a small team
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in development and delivery of technical training
  • Medium to advanced Microsoft Office skills essential (Word/PowerPoint)
  • Experience using Workforce Performance Builder, Enterprise Architecture, Articulate, Captivate and/or Drupal a significant advantage but not essential
