Job Description

Do you want to work closely and collaboratively with your peers in order to achieve operational results that make a positive difference to GCSB outcomes?

Do you have experience in managing a range of IT infrastructure environments?  Are you familiar applying best practice engineering technical standards and methodologies?  Do other people know you as an innovative problem solver?

 We are looking for an Engineering Manager - Infrastructure within the Intelligence Directorate of the Government Communications Security Bureau.  The directorate is responsible within the provisions of the ISA, to access, exploit, analyse, report and share intelligence of value in accordance with the NZ Government intelligence requirements.

This is a varied and interesting role developing and managing a team of technical specialists supporting infrastructure across a range of capabilities and technologies. You should be familiar with managing competing priorities across established and new capabilities in an operational environment.

You will provide business and financial planning in an environment with multiple stakeholders to implement capabilities that enable the conduct of operations at the heart of the New Zealand Intelligence Community.

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years.  Alternatively you must hold NZ Permanent Residence or hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.

You must be able to obtain and maintain a high level  security clearance.  Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken.  Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.
