Do you want a role where you can develop a system from design through to implementation? Where you can configure both the networking and security devices before implementing the virtual platform and building the host OS? Are you passionate about implementing security in depth practices and researching innovative approaches to solving interesting technical challenges? The GCSB are now looking for Infrastructure Engineers to join our busy team.  An engineer in this unit has a varied and interesting role developing and supporting infrastructure platforms across a range of capabilities and technologies. The role includes activities across automation, virtualisation, networking, storage, computing and security. You would be working in a role across typical technological boundaries to implement new capabilities in support of GCSB operational activities.

Depending on your skills and experience we are looking at two levels for these opportunities – Practitioner and Expert.

The salary ranges for levels are:

Practitioner Level:  $77,711 - $116,567

Expert Level:         $90,366 - $135,548

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold NZ Permanent Residence or hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.


You must be able to obtain and maintain a high level security clearance. Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken. Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.
