Job Description

Team Leader, Engineering - Development, Integration & Assurance (Software)

Technology Directorate delivers technology for GCSB, NZSIS and the wider security and intelligence sector. Our purpose is to ensure that mission requirements are met today and in the future – realising positive outcomes for New Zealand.

As Team Leader, Engineering you will be responsible for leading and managing the staff that develop, support and maintain and engineer systems within the directorate. This includes system development, deployment, integration and management.  You will liaise closely with other teams across the directorate to ensure fit-for-purpose systems are developed for customers.

 

As an experienced ICT professional you will be adept at people leadership and team management, project implementation, and bring the technical experience and credibility to operate as a technical lead and subject matter expert in providing end to end advice and support in respect of one or more areas of software development, technical integration, IT security and assurance, or testing.

 

Ideally you will bring:

  • Experience in leading, managing and motivating high performing technical teams
  • A passion for developing teams and staff
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Proven development and deployment experience for large software solutions (desirable)
  • Extensive relevant experience in ICT management and technical positions
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills and able to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and manage competing and changing priorities
  • Strong commitment to providing a high standard of customer service

Salary range:  $90,366 - $135,548.

To be eligible for employment within the NZ intelligence Community (NZIC) you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years.  Alternatively you must hold NZ Permanent Residence / current NZ Residency Class Visa and have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years. 

You must be able to obtain and maintain a high level security clearance.  Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken.  Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.
