Due to an expanding programme of work, we are looking for highly experienced and enthusiastic Project Management Professionals to be part of the Department's Design and Implementation team.


As a member of the team, you will get opportunities to work on a variety of national and regional led projects that focus on keeping staff and the public safe; support the rehabilitation and reintegration of those in our care; and enhance the practice of our frontline staff.


The projects are often high profile and fast paced, working alongside our Justice and Social sector colleagues. You may have heard about our work on alcohol and other drug testing in the community or initiatives that improve the interactive online experience for prisoners.


We're looking for people who love what they do, thrive on diverse and challenging projects and are passionate about making a difference for New Zealand.

Skills and experienced required:

  • Relevant qualifications or experience to an equivalent level
  • Have experience in utilising a range of frameworks and approaches
  • Be experienced running Business and/or IT projects and know how to “bridge the gap”
  • Be a results focussed individual
  • Have a proven track record of ‘getting the most' from talented teams
  • Understand how to balance risk and reward while driving outcomes
  • Enjoy engaging with diverse stakeholder groups including senior management personnel, operational staff, design consultants and contractors
  • Be a team player who believes in working collaboratively to reach successful outcomes
  • Possess exceptional communication skills, resilience and the ability to influence team members and other stakeholders.
