Job Description

The International Engagement Team in the Joint Directors-General Office is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic team player to join us as an International Engagement Advisor. We are a highly engaged, collaborative team and are looking for someone to help us further develop our engagement and capability of secondments and international postings.

You will have strong interpersonal skills, an ability to engage with a diverse range of people at all levels and enjoy problem solving.  You will be our expert for delivering effective and timely international secondments and postings services to both GCSB and NZSIS, as  well providing impeccable event management and coordination skills for major international events occurring in New Zealand.

 

As the International Engagement Advisor you will:

  • Lead and manage the Overseas Secondments, Exchanges and Postings process end to end from pre-deployment support, during deployment through to their return home;
  • Have the ability to engage with a diverse group of customers and able to develop and maintain key relationships with staff, partner agencies, external suppliers and vendors;
  • Support engagement with our international partners by coordinating major incoming visits, coordinating detailed visit programmes for outward travel, events and conferences;
  • Facilitate the passport and visa application process for staff travelling or posted overseas.


You will continually explore ways to enhance and develop processes and systems for foreign engagement programmes such as inward and outward visits and secondments and postings.  Your sound judgement, time-management and prioritisation skills will enable to you to work autonomously and confidently. You will have proven event management experience and an in-depth knowledge of the processes needed in maintaining and supporting an overseas footprint. You will have a dedicated customer focus and a genuine interest in supporting your colleagues and the business.

Salary from $68,316 - $102,474 per annum

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold NZ Permanent Residence or hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.

You must be able to obtain and maintain a high level security clearance. Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken. Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.
