Job Description

Are you interested in developing information, records and data management strategies to support the New Zealand Security and Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to have the knowledge it needs to keep New Zealand and New Zealander's safe and secure?

We are seeking an Information Management Team Leader to establish and improve processes and policies that ensure we have the information assets we need to deliver high quality security and intelligence services.

Are you a highly motivated person who:

  • Has experience throughout the information lifecycle, in a digital context, and uses this experience to develop and implement information practices that support information as a business asset?
    • Is keen to develop the next generation of information management policy and processes to help the NZSIS stay abreast of a rapidly-changing information environment?
    • Genuinely enjoys motivating and developing others to reach their potential?
  • Has the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of people and deliver complex messages with impact whether in writing, verbally or visually?

Ideally, you will have at least 8 years' experience in:

  • An information and records management role in a complex business and customer focused environment;
  • Designing effective information management approaches that enable value to be extracted from information while maintaining legal compliance; and
  • Providing system support and advice to users to enable smart use of Electronic Information Management (ECM) tools.

We are looking for a team leader who enjoys communicating and who is prepared to put the needs of their customers at the centre of everything they do. While you develop and guide the team we will expect you to continually learn and stay abreast of the challenges NZSIS faces.

Salary from $77,711 - $116,567 per annum.

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold NZ Permanent Residence or hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.

You must be able to obtain and maintain a high level security clearance. Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken. Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.
