Job Description

What you will do
 
Provision of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Purchasing and Inventory Management functions in order to support the through life management of material to ensure the supportability of non-platform ground support equipment in the domestic and deployed environments within the NZDF.
 
You'll be responsible for:

  • Developing stock holding plans, recommending the purchase of material needed to sustain equipment fleets in terms of supplier, price and order quantities;
  • Managing inventory related functions to maintain the accuracy of stocked inventory;
  • Conducting procurement activities;
  • Managing the MRP list, and Residual Dues Out;
  • Raising purchase orders in accordance with current NZDF and NZ Government procedures, guidelines, and principles;
  • Trialling new SAP applications, testing SAP processes, advising on trial results, preparing draft-operating procedures and providing feedback to the Equipment Manager (EM).

 What we need

Your experience in a purchasing, MRP and/or inventory management environment, along with an appreciation of Integrated Logisitcs Support (ILS) and in-depth understanding of supply chain management. You'll be skilled and experienced with SAP (or other corporate ERP systems such as JDE or Oracle) and have strong analytical and numerical skills.
 
In order to be a competitive applicant you will also have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The Defence Equipment Management Organisation (DEMO) will provide a single point of accountability for the through-life management of specified equipment across the Land, Air and Maritime environments thereby ensuring that all equipment receives consistent strategic logistic support whilst in service in NZDF. This organisation will be accountable for the day to day delivery of through life Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) and management of equipment enabling NZDF to meet its business and operational objectives to the appropriate standards.

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
