Mō te tūnga | About the role

The Storeperson is responsible for the day-to-day management of stores and equipment for the 2nd Combat Service Support Battalion.

The main responsibilities of this role are:

  • Responding promptly to request for equipment from our internal customers;
  • Managing queries over the phone and in person;
  • Conducting regular stock checks and managing stock levels;
  • Managing and maintaining an accurate inventory of all stock; and
  • Providing accurate documentation and records.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience

Along with experience in a warehousing/stores and inventory management environment, providing quality service and products to customers, you'll have the following:

  • Experience loading/unloading stock and working a Forklift;
  • Effective communication and relationship management skills;
  • A good level of computer literacy within Microsoft Office, particularly with excel spreadsheeting;
  • Exposure to SAP and/or SharePoint would advantageous;
  • A full class 1 NZ driver license; Forklift Endorsement and Dangerous goods handling experience would be welcomed.

The 2nd Combat Service Support Battalion RNZALR based in Linton Camp near Palmerston North, provides Combat Service Support (CSS) to the 1st New Zealand Brigade with elements including transport, movements, workshops and supply, in support of a range of military tasks.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
