Mō te tūnga | About the role
As a member of the supply chain team, your primary responsibility in this position will be to assist with projects to ensure the delivery of necessary operational support outputs.
Additionally, you will be a vital member of the transport team, responsible for the internal delivery of Navy mail within the Devonport Naval Base, as well as to satellite units located at Kauri Point and Narrowneck Officer Training School.
The team provides drivers for various purposes including:
- Transporting personnel to essential duties;
- Transporting to and from professional and technical courses; and
- Assisting with transport to managed isolation facilities.
Distribution duties primarily involve:
- Picking; and
- Carrying out fork lift duties such as loading and unloading trucks.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience
We are looking for a mature and experienced driver with Class 1, Class 2 and Class 4 driver's licence with a P endorsement.
You'll need to have a good understanding of the Land Transport Act and be proficient with computer applications in a distribution environment.
As our Vehicle Valet, you'll play a crucial role in presenting our vehicle fleet.
You'll be interacting with a diverse range of people, so strong communication skills and confidence are essential.

The Supply Chain is a sub-Unit within the DLC (M) that is responsible for controlling and supplying equipment and materials primarily to the Royal New Zealand Navy. Low level Security Clearance
- most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
- is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
