Mō te tūnga | About the role

The Supply Chain is a sub-Unit within the Defence Logistics Command (Maritime) that is responsible for controlling and supplying equipment and materials primarily to the Royal New Zealand Navy. The Group provides a range of supply chain services, including transportation and freight forwarding, material preservation and packaging, warehousing, procurement, inventory management, and material data control.

In this role you will manage and supervise the receipting of material into the Supply Chain Group's Distribution Centre, including material received new from vendors and returned material from customers or repair providers.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a new step in their career by moving into a supervisory position.

The salary for this role will be approximately $65,000 per year.

We are seeking a person with experience from within a logistic operations environment who is able to supervise a small team through effective communication and a collaborative approach.

Having a good level of computer literacy, you are comfortable using the Microsoft Office Suite and SAP-Business Intelligence and SAP Material Management.

Having any of the following qualifications would be an advantage:

  • High Reach Truck;
  • Wave Rider;
  • Pallet Ride On;
  • Neptune;
  • SAP Material Management modules necessary to perform goods receipting functions;
  • SAP PI;
  • Overhead Gantry Crane;
  • MAF Bio Security Certification (Selected);
  • Work Place First Aid (Selected);
  • IATA Qualification (Selected);
  • Licences: Forklift / Dangerous Goods, HAZNO (Classes 2-9).

A full class one driver licence is essential.

Low Level Security Clearance

  • You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
  • At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last five (5) years.
  • You must have a five (5) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
