Job Description

Are you from an infrastructure / planning / engineering / property background?  Are you a strategic thinker?  Are you regarded as a subject matter expert?  Do you want to be part of an exciting time of change and development? Then you could be our next Senior Estate Strategist.

The New Zealand Defence Force Estate is undergoing significant long term Regeneration, which is impacting property and infrastructure across all camps and bases throughout NZ and our 14,000 strong workforce.
In this role you'll have the opportunity to bring new ideas, use new tools and techniques and lead the industry with your thinking. Your decisions will have a direct impact on the infrastructure decisions of the Defence Force nationally. The work is dynamic and challenging; you will be thinking about tomorrow's problems and how they will impact New Zealand's Defence Force.

What we're looking for from you:
 
  • A depth of background in infrastructure / engineering / property / architecture.
  • Significant experience in and an emphasis on future strategy with realisable and tangible outcomes.
  • Proven project/programme management experience having portfolio-wide effects.
  • Have a desire to achieve and be results focused.
  • The ability to think strategically and laterally.
  • A high degree of personal resilience with the ability to positively respond to a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent relationship management skills and a high level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute within a cohesive team environment.

The remuneration band for this position is $83,161 to $102,729 (NZD), inclusive of a 4% employer superannuation contribution.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:


Higher level Security Clearance

 

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.
