Job Description

As an integral part of the NZDF's IT Academy you will be involved in delivering a variety of IT courses.

What you will do

This role is responsible for coordinating and delivering IT Training in Microsoft/ VMWare, CCNA Routing and Switching, CCNA security and CCNA Cyber Operations to NZDF personnel.

Along with the delivery of the pre-prepared syllabus you'll be working alongside your colleagues sharing your IT expertise to design and develop practical learning tasks and activities as well as conducting assessments and reporting on progress.  

What we need

We are looking for someone who has strong knowledge and experience in designing, installing and troubleshooting Cisco, Microsoft, Linux and VMware infrastructure and holds a CCNA Routing and Switching certification with the ability to gain CCNA Security and CCNA Cyber Ops on the job.

Ideally you will have teaching or instructional experience and hold a formal qualification in this area. We welcome applications from individuals who have experience as a Cisco Certified Academy Instructor. You'll have strong communication and interpersonal skills which enable you to build rapport with all stakeholders easily and people will enjoy being part of your class because you have a knack for presenting content in interesting ways. With your excellent planning and organisational skills and ability to find innovative solutions you have the ability to provide quality training and learning opportunities.

Who we are

Support Training Flight (STF) is a sub unit of Logistics Training Squadron (LTS). STF is responsible for the delivery of Logistics, AIR CIS, NZDF ITA and Air Movements trade training by providing personnel with the knowledge and skills to operate within the RNZAF logistics environment. STF is also responsible for the delivery of selected trade post-graduate training courses.

Higher level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
