Job Description

What you will do

As Digital Channel Coordinator you will support the Digital Channels Team in the delivery of excellent digital communications and engagement on NZDF's digital channels. You will provide support to the Digital Channel Manager to coordinate the production and publication of both planned and reactive content for NZDF's key digital channels, including websites, internal digital channels and social media channels.
As someone who is experienced in social media and creating and finding content, you will help keep NZDF's social media channels engaging and effective by providing moderation and monitoring to manage risks and opportunities online.

What we need

We are looking for a level headed team player who has initiative and sound decision making abilities, who understands a range of digital media platforms and social media.
You will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills and can write engaging digital content for a range of audiences and channels. You are skilled at building and maintaining rapport with stakeholders and as a creative thinker you enjoy collaborating with others. You are willing to learn new things in the digital space and can undertake basic photo and video editing.
Your experience in social media for a large or non-profit organisation will benefit you in this busy and varied environment. Your relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent career experience and knowledge of NZ Government information technology policies, procedures and standards will aide your success in this role.

Who we are

This position is part of the Defence Public Affairs Unit, whose purpose is to directly enhance the reputation and identity of the NZDF internally and externally. Through the provision of creative services, digital expertise, marketing, media relations, and business partnership, the Unit provides for the integration of all NZDF public affairs activity.
Every hour of every day, 365 days of the year, the New Zealand Defence Force is contributing to the defence, security and well-being of Aotearoa / New Zealand.  As a modern, professional military, it is our goal to maintain well trained, equipped and disciplined armed forces that can react to crisis at short notice.  Therefore we lead, train and equip our sailors, soldiers and airmen and women for action in the most demanding environments, so they are ready and able to protect New Zealand's interests.

Why Us

This is your opportunity to bring your passion, knowledge and experience to Defence Public Affairs.  In return for your knowledge, experience and drive, we can reward you with challenging opportunities working in a supportive, motivated and forward-thinking team and working environment.

Check out the great benefits for you and your family when you join NZDF!
