Job Description

What you will do
 
As the Staff Officer, Army Governance, you will work within the Office of Strategy Management and be responsible for facilitating delivery of the Army Governance Framework and the provision of staff support to the OSM and Army General Staff as a whole. This involves working with other members of OSM to develop, prioritise and implement the unit work plan to ensure its effective delivery.
You will provide support to the Army Governance Boards and the Assistant Chief of Army to ensure efficient conduct of board meetings, communicate key decisions and track related action points from Army Governance Boards; and undertake analysis and key projects that support OSM and Army deliverables. You will manage meeting agendas and minute taking, as well as maintain support to  the Army General Staff SharePoint site and general administration as required. 
 
What we need
 
We need a positive and experienced team player who is solutions focused and willing to learn. You can work autonomously and you have initiative, enabling you to forge ahead and succeed in your responsibilities. You will have exceptional planning and organisational skills and have previous experience with the governance process.  
You will be a skilled oral and written communicator with political nous who can confidently interact with staff and seniors at all levels of an organisation. You take the initiative in developing and maintaining robust relationships with stakeholders and colleagues to ensure client satisfaction.
You will be proficient in MS Office suite, including Excel, and experienced in supporting and understanding document management and storage systems such as SharePoint. A skilled minute taker, you will be experienced in high level meeting environments and have exceptional attention to detail.

The remuneration band for this position is $55,869 to $69,014 inclusive of a 4% employer superannuation contribution.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Higher level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
