Job Description

What you will do
 
As the Sensitive Compartmented Information Coordinator you will contribute to the provision of high quality, effective personnel security services, products and advice. This enhances the secure environment of HQ NZDF, HQ JFNZ, single services and accredited personnel who require access to highest levels of classified information.  
You will provide direct support to the office of the Chief of Defence Intelligence in the management of special Intelligence policies, processes and systems. This includes special compartmented intelligence related physical security and Information Technology systems.  The delivery of specialist security services is to ensure the protection of special categories of classified material provided to NZDF, New Zealand and International organisations.
This is an exciting opportunity in an interesting and developing field within NZDF.
 
What we need
 
Our ideal person for his role is someone who is approachable with superb written and verbal communication skills. You will have a knack for dealing with a range of customers, personalities and demands with the ability to be assertive and push back when required. You will be extremely organised and self-managing and can prioritise changing demands with ease; have a flexible approach and enjoy being part of a dynamic team who are passionate about what they do.  
Your ability to build strong and effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels, and your confident communication style will be key to success in this role.  Ideally you will have least 10 years' work experience including experience in a similar role together with a relevant qualification. You must hold a full NZ driver's license and be prepared to undertake travel as needed.

New Zealand Defence Intelligence is the principal provider of intelligence and security advice to the Chief of Defence Force and the New Zealand Defence Force Executive Leadership Team. We achieve this by providing support for the formulation of strategic intelligence and security direction and implementation of direction through branch capabilities and the technical direction of Joint Force intelligence and security resources.

The total fixed remuneration band for this position is $72,375 to $89,404 inclusive of a 4% employer superannuation contribution.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Higher level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level. 

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
