Job Description

What you will do
As the Technical Security Installations Analyst you will contribute and, where necessary supervise, the development of the Defence Technical Security Installation Programme, install and maintain electronic security systems, deliver defence technical security services (including compliance and verification) and products to ensure the protection of classified material and controlled material.  The position also supervises the work and certifies the compliance with Defence policy and standards of electronic systems that have been installed by commercial providers.

What we need

As the Technical Security Installations Analyst you will be responsible for conducting site inspections, designing, installing and certifying electronic security systems, supervising work and ensuring compliance with Defence standards. 
We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable team member who enjoys working in a client focussed environment.  You will have comprehensive knowledge of electronic security systems, and previous experience in design, testing and evaluation. In addition, you will be highly skilled in ACS, IDS and CCTV.

You'll need to have the ability to travel when required to conduct security inspections, installations or security system design or reconfiguration.   Ideally you will also be qualified on; TECOM Challenger technician course, CARDAX ACS, DVTEL CCTV and hold an Electrical Service Technician Certificate or equivalent, but these qualifications are not a pre-requisite as we're looking for the right person so training will be provided.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Higher level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
