Job Description

What you will do
 
The Directorate of Defence Recruiting is looking for a skilled and experienced manager to drive and lead a team of Candidate Engagement Facilitators (CEFs) who support military recruitment across NZDF Recruiting Offices in New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Napier and Wellington. 
 
Based in the Wellington CBD or Palmerston North, the Candidate Engagement Manager (CEM) is responsible for providing proactive administration advice and guidance to CEFs bringing good practice and advice to the management of military recruitment issues and to promote and enhance organisational performance.
 
You will ensure effective and efficient candidate management by your team, actively develop your team and promote harmonious key stakeholder relationships.  You will also be responsible for your own small portfolio of NZDF military recruitment candidates.  
 
What we need

An experienced manager skilled in managing high volume workloads, prioritisation and attention to detail, with experience managing remote teams.  

You'll be delivery focussed, proactive, demonstrate the ability to lead teams to success and have a passion to succeed.  

Our ideal candidate has an undergraduate qualification in Business Studies or a relevant field, excellent relationship building and communication skills and the ability to coordinate multiple activities across different teams and departments whilst maintaining a high level of service and leadership.

Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
