Job Description

What you will do

As the Land Transport Compliance Manager you'll be the lead NZDF technical expert in land transport compliance by providing accurate advice, training and compliance administration in a timely manner in order to support NZDF vehicle fleet operations in New Zealand.  This will include maintaining relationships with key external land transport stakeholders and being the champion of successful execution of NZDF land transport policy.

What we need

A driven person with experience in the New Zealand land transport environment, transport operation and compliance.  You'll have experience delivering training and have a sound knowledge of Road User Charges (RUC), over weight and over dimension admin procedures.
 
Your skills in communication, relationship building and the ability to relate to a wide range of people will be crucial to your success in this role.
 
Our ideal candidate will be a SAP (or other corporate ERP) user, have experience in equipment and/or vehicle fleet management, be BESS qualified and ideally have an understanding of military operations at the tactical and operational level.
 
You'll need a current Class 1 and Class 2 NZ driver's licence, have the ability to work outside of normal working hours when required and be able to deploy into the field on order to support NZDF training exercises.
 
Who we are

Defence Logistics Command (DLC) supports the NZDF by providing logistics (maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO)), most supply chain and warehousing operations (SCWO), commercial services and shared services to the single Services and HQ Joint Forces NZ.  The DLC support role is summarised by 'feed, fuel, fix, arm, move, procure, pay'.   DLC provides logistics policy and advice internally to the NZDF and externally to NZDF's stakeholders on a Whole of Government (WoG) basis.   DLC is responsible for multi-national logistics policy and implementation through a series of bi-lateral and multilateral agreements and forums.

Logistics Command (Land) is responsible for all Land logistics and is accountable for delivering effective and efficient through life logistics support to NZDF capabilities.  This includes end to end policy, plans, assurance, engineering, maintenance, supply chain and the through life management of equipment.

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
