Job Description

What you will do

Technical Publications are vital tools that enable Royal New Zealand Air Force personnel to carry out their tasks.  As a self-starter you will be required to prepare, proof and edit print masters from draft text, illustrations and photographs into electronic, web and/or hard copy form and arrange placement in online, electronic and/or hard copy manuals in accordance with current publication standards and procedures, and airworthiness work practices.

What we need

You will need to possess great written and oral communication skills, and the ability to follow detailed technical instructions.  You will also need to be comfortable editing publications using quality assurance agreements, internal standards and procedures, and meeting deadlines.  You will be required to work both autonomously and closely within a team and have strong customer focus.

A high degree of computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites is necessary. Familiarity with Quick Silver and Adobe FrameMaker would be an advantage.
Who we are

The Publications, Information and Drawing Support (PIDS) is responsible for providing policy advice on RNZAF Logistics publications and engineering drawings, and for maintaining an internal publications and engineering drawing online facility. PIDS is also responsible for supporting the Ohakea and Auckland Airworthiness Documentation Centres (ADCs), providing an internal publication distribution, control and amendment service for Air Staff and RNZAF units overseas, providing a research and supply service for technical specifications, standards and associated data, as well as providing a documentation and book scanning facility.

Every hour of every day, 365 days of the year, the New Zealand Defence Force is contributing to the defence, security and well-being of Aotearoa / New Zealand.  As a modern, professional military, it is our goal to maintain well trained, equipped and disciplined armed forces that can react to crisis at short notice.
