Job Description

  • Not your typical simulation role
  • Work with some unique systems
  • Liaise across multiple stakeholders

 

What you will do

In this role you will support 6 Squadron training outputs by operating the Super Seasprite helicopter synthetic training devices which includes an advanced flight simulator for the training of air crew and maintenance personnel, assisting with the development of training scenarios, recording operating statistics, logging flight hours, maintaining charts, updating documents including operating manuals and guides.

What we need
 
We are seeking a person ideally with aviation experience gained from working with helicopters. You will have an understanding of how helicopters and their associated systems work, you will also have a knowledge of air traffic control procedures. Aviation experience from within the RNZAF would be an advantage.
 
There is a lot of stakeholder liaison within this role; you will work closely with pilots, aircrew and instructors, liaise with students, run scenarios and briefings. Part of the role will also see you take care of any visitors to the simulator. You are a confident communicator who is able to communicate effectively across a wide range of people.
 
You will have an advanced level of computer skills with proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite.
Experience with synthetic training systems, ideally flight simulators, would be an advantage.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Higher level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
