Job Description

What you will do

The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and management of the Service Delivery Centre. The role is responsible for ensuring customer service solutions are delivered, measured and reported  and all opportunities are acted on to achieve the highest standard of shared service delivery.

The Service Centre is the “front office” of the Defence Shared Services Group (DSSG) and acts to give personal service to NZDF customers, provides accessible and timely responses to requests for service and acts as a conduit to the Defence Shared Services National Service Centre and is the key point-of-contact between these groups and operational commanders, output owners and business owners to ensure effective delivery of Camp/Base support functions.
 
What we need
 
You will bring some key skills from prior cross functional management, leadership and organisational support services. This prior experience has seen you develop and implement superior customer solutions initiatives.
We are seeking a person with significant people management experience who can lead strong customer support teams through proactive leadership and coaching to deliver a high level of customer support to the NZDF. As an experienced manager you are familiar with setting and managing expectations with team members, performance planning, appraisals, development plans and success factors.

Within this role you will ensure the delivery of quality and efficient services and work with other support units e.g. Business Processing, Facilities Management, Defence Logistics Command, Defence Commercial Services, Human Resources Service Centre and IT. You will also represent DSSG in any NZDF wide projects that recommends policy changes to improve the delivery of services projects if and when required.
You think methodically establishing and maintaining sound processes and systems and can respond quickly to complex issues.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
