As the Finance Service Delivery Team Leader for Wellington you will be responsible for managing a team of financial advisors in the Wellington region who provide outstanding financial management support and advice to a number of key stakeholders within NZDF as well as other internal finance teams. 
This position reports directly to the Finance Manager Service Delivery and is responsible for the day to day management of the Wellington Financial Advisory team which includes managing team workflows, mentoring/coaching of team members and ensuring the integrity of financial management and information provided is sound and reliable.  Additionally, there is a need to support the Finance Manager Service Delivery on service delivery expectations which includes helping to rollout change transformation projects.

What we need
 
The key skills and attributes we are looking for are:
 
•       Experience in leading successful teams through times of change
•       In-depth knowledge of management accounting and financial management principles and practices
•       The ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships at all levels
•       Excellent presentation and communications skills
•       Proven quantitative and qualitative analytical and evaluative skills
•       Demonstrate experience of a major ERP package and Business Intelligence Systems is required
•       A graduate tertiary qualification in Accounting and Business and qualified to Chartered Accountant level (or international equivalent)
•       Extensive practical experience of 7-10 years in a finance or accounting role within a large organisation.
•       A full driver's licence is required as the team is based across multiple locations.

Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Higher level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
