What you will do
The Inventory Performance Manager is responsible for assisting the Senior Inventory Manager (Air) with the delivery of sound inventory management and advice derived from business analysis of data, policy and processes, associated with all Consumable and Rotable inventory held by the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF).

You will be responsible for the inventory investment decision making resulting from mass data analytics function, preparation of performance reporting, identifying supply process improvement and compliance issues and providing input into supply policy development in relation to the RNZAF Inventory. You will also prepare performance metrics, provide input in relation to DLC supply process and policy development through standard operating procedure reviews.

What we need
We are seeking an inventory specialist; someone who can bring a significant amount of expertise in logistics combined with a broad range of supply chain experience. You can analyse data, particularly inventory analysis (turns, reorder points, forecasts), this technical focus also allows you to identify, analyse and solve challenging problems in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
Critical to this role will be your excellent understanding of MRP and purchasing principles, you can demonstrate experience in using System Application Products (SAP) modules. A lean/six sigma white belt qualification or like process improvement methodology is a mandatory requirement for the role.
There is a great deal of stakeholder engagement within this role both internally and externally when liaising with suppliers and customers. You are a relationship builder and recognise the value of delivering outputs with a customer centric approach.
A tertiary qualification in finance, business studies, operations management, analytical studies, procurement and inventory or supply chain management is desirable.
Who we are
The Inventory Management Team is responsible for the supply chain management of all aeronautical and non-aeronautical consumable spares. It includes the development and ongoing management of the consumable inventory (approx. $130M pa). This involves the use of a range of forecasting tools to ensure spares are available in a timely manner. It also involves constant international vendor management to ensure that delivery schedules are met and that priorities are understood. Furthermore, there is a constant pursuit of cost and process efficiency and therefore engagement with external contractors to investigate the potential for more holistic end to end supply chain solutions.
