What you will do

A fixed term (parental leave) opportunity for a Planning and Scheduling Coordinator role has opened up in Training Education Services (TES) based in Waiouru Military Camp. 

Reporting to the Team Leader Planning and Scheduling (Central), this role partners with training providers to support the delivery of NZDF training output.   A typical day includes the planning, timetabling, resourcing, administration and day to day support of NZDF courses.

What we need

People and planning skills are key to being successful in this position as you will juggle, negotiate, collaborate, reconcile, investigate and placate anything from people to armoured vehicles.  

Key skills and attributes needed include:

  • Initiative; the ability to research, analyse, query, question, extract and interpret complex information; 

  • Exceptional communication skills with a customer centric focus; 

  • Versatility, with the ability to work under pressure, co-ordinating support to multiple courses whilst meeting deadlines and retaining quality of service;

  • Agility, able to remain focused and engaged in an ever-changing, fast paced and dynamic environment;

  • A great sense of humour;

  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new applications.

Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows: 

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR

  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
