Job Description

What you will do

Support the Capability Branch Project Managers and Capability Integration Leads  and manage requirements throughout the capability life cycle. You will be the Lead on the development and drafting of requirements to support the acquisition of NZDF capabilities.

You will be the subject matter expert on requirements-related methodologies and processes, and be responsible for the process of generation, elicitation, analysis and management of the requirements for the NEA Programme and its Integrated Project Teams. The role will also conduct planning and co-ordination of Programme system engineering effort. This reflects the technical nature of the capabilities delivered under the NEA Programme.

This challenging role requires a motivated, big picture thinker with a logical mind and superb analytical skills. You will need an appreciation of requirements development methodologies, the ability to turn insights into solutions, and the desire to deliver results.

You'll be adaptable, curious, a great problem solver and able to work across various domains, stakeholders and projects with ease to achieve your goal. You'll need a collaborative approach with the ability to understand challenges and communicate easily with different audiences.
 
You will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy developing strong relationships with stakeholders, building and maintaining trusting relationships with requirements leads and requirements engineers throughout the MOD and NZDF Organisations.

Who we are

The NEA programme is a Unit within the Capability Branch of NZ Defence Force. The Programmes purpose is to deliver transformational Command, Control, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance capabilities to the NZ Army. The Programme is responsible for efficient and effective management of the Network Enabled Army capability development and delivery as well as provide capability management oversight. This will contribute significantly to the NZDF Integrated Defence Force as part of Capability Branch, the programme provides a single point of accountability for these elements and will deliver outputs that enable the delivery of joint effects.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Higher level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
