Job Description

What you will do

You will lead, develop and manage the technology and simulation system to ensure momentum continues as the system is fully integrated into operational training.  

This role will provide you with a challenge as you develop integral stakeholder relationships, commitments and ‘buy in' to ensure impetus continues for vital programmes and projects.

This role is based in either Wellington or Manawatu. 

What we need

Your understanding of the NZ Defence Force operations and training environmental, along with excellent interpersonal skills will see you successful in this role.

An understanding of learning theories and environment, as well as project experience will see you successful.  Previous experience in technology and simulation management, including developing and executing operational and strategic level strategies, in support of learning outcomes, is preferred.

You'll be adaptable, curious, a great problem solver and able to work across various domains, stakeholders and projects with ease to achieve the Unit's goals.  You will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and enjoy developing strong relationships with stakeholders, building and maintaining trusting relationship.  You will have the ability to liaise and present yourself confidently and professionally as you work within the Unit's executive team. 

You will be self-motivated with excellent organisational skills and be able to juggle multiple and changing priorities.

Who we are

The Headquarters of the Training and Doctrine Command (NZ); (TRADOC (NZ)) is mandated to provide command, control and guidance to the units of TRADOC in order to facilitate the conduct of directed individual training, associated direct outputs and the implementation of the new Army leadership framework in order to provide the NZDF with skilled, operationally focused military professionals.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Higher level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
