Job Description

What you will do

The purpose of the Senior Advisor Wellness (Education) role is to lead, implement, monitor and evaluate Integrated Wellness projects, initiatives, and programmes of work which support the wellness of NZDF personnel and their whānau.  You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and implementing key wellness projects and initiatives which contribute to and align with the Integrated Wellness Strategy and programmes of work;
  • Managing key wellness initiatives/projects as they become business as usual;
  • Building and maintaining robust relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders;
  • Manage and provide oversight of Defence Health online learning platforms and monitor Learning Management Systems and Force for Families providers;
  • The development and implementation of wellness education promotional content and communication plans.

What we need

To be successful in this role you will need to be a self-motivated individual who is solutions focussed and not afraid to think outside the box.   You will have a true passion for all things wellness and how these can be implemented within our defence community.  Additionally you will need to have:

  • Experience leading projects from conception to delivery;
  • Experience developing e-learning resources and/or health promotion;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to plan, develop and implement appropriate communications to a broad range of stakeholders;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships;
  • Effective planning, organisational and time management skills.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
