What you will do

As the Business Analyst, you will be responsible for the identification, analysis, design, development and delivery of effective business, technology and user solutions.  You will work closely with key stakeholders to identify the requirements and priorities to better support NZDF logistics. 

You will develop and use of a range of practical and effective business analysis, and user experience tools and approaches that enable effective decision making, stakeholder and business owner confidence, and the successful delivery of organisational initiatives.

The role is fixed term for two years with plenty of room to expand your professional skills and work across a variety of initiatives.

What we need

To be successful in this role, you will be an enthusiastic, business and technology analyst.  We are looking for someone with a willingness to learn and experience.  

You will preferably have:

  • An understanding of how businesses operate and change;
  • Experience in the use of effective business analysis modelling and decision making methods;
  • Experience in developing effective business and technical documentation e.g. business cases, requirements, process maps;
  • A good understanding of the business and solution development processes including the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile;
  • Good relationship management, engagement and communication skills, including the ability to adjust to different audiences and situations.

Who we are

The roles will initially report into the Consolidated Logistics Project (CLP).  CLP is charged with initiating, driving, co-ordinating and delivering a series of activities required to transform the delivery of logistics within the NZDF.  You will be required to work closely with other members of the Project, logistics community and other stakeholders to develop end-to-end solutions, which will involve considering process, organisation, technology and information changes and impacts.

Over the next year a Business Enhancement and Sustainment Capability will be established at which time these roles may become part of that capability and transition into the business.  This is an exciting time to be part of establishing and building new capability for the NZDF and to deliver significant tangible outcomes.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
