Mō te tūnga | About the role

In this role you will maintain effective control of the entry and exit into Papakura Military Camp, carry out foot patrols, monitor surveillance and alarms and provide an efficient service to all internal personnel and external visitors.

We have two positions available working Monday to Friday:

• 7am to 3.30pm
• 9.30am to 6.00pm

These roles are for a one year fixed term period and will mainly monitor construction sites on the camp and other security related jobs.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience

We are seeking a person with prior security experience preferably in operational security and someone who has a good work ethic. You will display sound judgement in all areas, communicate effectively with others including all visitors to camp, have strong observation skills and a good degree of physical fitness. Technology plays a big part in what we do, so it's important that you are comfortable using computers and are familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite.

Please note: A full NZ Driver licence is essential.

Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Higher level Security Clearance

• most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
• is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
