Disciplinary Panel member - Te Kahu Aratika  at Sport Integrity Commision Te Kahu Raunui, Auckland

We are seeking nominations for the appointment of members to an independent Disciplinary Panel, which will consider and determine breaches of the Code of Integrity for Sport and Recreation (the Integrity Code).   

Detailed information about the role can be found in the Candidate Information Form attached.

 

Ko wai koē - The qualities, skills and experience needed

To be eligible, nominees must: 

  • be of good standing in the community; and 
  • have relevant knowledge and experience which could include, but not be limited to experience in:
    • law;
    • tikanga Māori;
    • knowledge of sport and recreation activities and rules;
    • child safeguarding and protection; or
    • disciplinary processes. 

The membership of the Disciplinary Panel must reflect the diversity of Aotearoa New Zealand's sport and recreation sector. We therefore welcome and actively encourage applications from candidates who can bring their perspective and experience to this panel including:

  • women; 
  • Māori; 
  • Pacific peoples; 
  • disabled people; and 
  • rainbow people. 

 

Te Ara Tukanga - The appointment process

The Board of the Commission is responsible for selecting the members of the Disciplinary Panel. This will include the appointment of a Chair and Deputy Chair. 

Those seeking appointment to the Disciplinary Panel must complete the Nomination Form attached that requires: 

  • personal and professional details which will support an assessment of suitability. 
  • a copy of their passport or New Zealand' driver's licence. 
  • a cover letter explaining how their skills and experience meet the selection criteria 
  • a full curriculum vitae. 

 

Submit completed nominations by email to recruitment@sportintegrity.nz.

 

All completed nominations will be considered by a group comprised of:

  • Members of the Board of the Commission
  • the Chief Executive of the Commission
  • independent representatives from the sport and recreation sector and/or the wider community.   

 

This group will shortlist candidates who will then be interviewed by a panel comprised of both independent and Commission members. 

The interview panel will recommend candidates for appointment to the Board of the Commission.

The Board will have final responsibility for considering and confirming all appointments. 

 

Panel members will receive $550 per day, and Chair members will receive $750 per day.
