Job Description

  • True generalist role in a small friendly agency
  • Mixture of business partnering and projects
  • Collaborative and engaged team

The Ministry of Transport is the government's chief policy adviser on transport, providing advice on funding, investment and regulatory arrangements needed to support a sound transport system, including land, aviation and maritime transport. Our people are passionate about enabling New Zealand to flourish!

We're looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to cover parental leave for approximately 12 months. This is a true generalist role where you'll spend approximately 50% of your time partnering with managers to provide strategic and expert operational advice, and the rest of your time leading a variety of HR projects and coaching members of the HR team.

To be successful you'll need a breadth of experience and strong technical knowledge across the full spectrum of HR, including ER, working with unions, remuneration, OD frameworks, and recruitment. Public sector experience is preferable.

If you are a savvy HR business partner who can hit the ground running, develop strong relationships at all levels and have proven success implementing people initiatives, then this role could be ideal. You'll join a small, friendly HR team in an agile Ministry, where you can truly make a difference, and you'll get to do it all from our new waterfront office.

For further information about the role, please contact Kathleen Bracken, Acting HR Manager on 022 069 0933, k.bracken@transport.govt.nz

We look forward to hearing from you.

The salary band for this role is $106,837 - $150,828.
