The Team: What we do

Christchurch Hospital is a busy tertiary hospital and is entering a stage of expansion with completion of new buildings. To ensure that we continue to offer the best patient care our key team in Sterile Services keep things running smoothly from behind the scenes. This team of 50+ Sterile Sciences professionals provides a service to decontaminate, pack and sterilise instruments for the operating theatres and many other departments.

We're looking for a motivational leader to join our team in a newly established position as an Educator including taking on projects to streamline department effectiveness and efficiency. This is a full time, permanent role where you will educate, train, and provide on-going support for professional development for our talented team.

The Role: Where you fit in

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Developing and delivering educational training and professional development opportunities to Sterile Services staff
  • Delivering projects for department efficiencies and effectiveness
  • Initiating and delivering action plans for team development
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of the service

Your skills will include the following:

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire staff professional development
  • The ability to design and review cross functional change initiatives in education and projects
  • Expert knowledge of AS/NZS4187:2014
  • Sound experience in a sterile services role
  • Previous experience in a senior supervisory position
  • Experience in a similar Educator position is advantageous
