The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko is an independent Crown entity that regulates the electricity market. Our core focus is to ensure the electricity system and market deliver reliable electricity at lowest cost for consumers.

The electricity industry is changing rapidly. Electrification across transport and industry is accelerating as the cost of renewable generation continues to fall. This transition is transforming the power system. As the system evolves, regulatory settings must continue to adapt to support reliable lowest cost outcomes for consumers.

It's an exciting time to join the Authority as we grow our capabilities, expand our reach, build a team ready to make a difference by driving through a bold, collaborative work programme to deliver reliable electricity at lowest cost for NZ consumers.

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

This is a rare opportunity to lead our Strategy and Corporate Group and play a key role in driving the organisation's long-term success. As a strategic leader, you will guide the development and delivery of the Authority's vision, ensuring our priorities are translated into clear, actionable plans that deliver meaningful outcomes.

You will champion strategic thinking across the organisation, continuously refining our direction to respond to emerging opportunities and challenges. Leading a portfolio of critical corporate functions, you will ensure they work seamlessly together to provide the insights, capability and support needed to achieve our strategic objectives.

This influential role offers the chance to make a lasting impact, working alongside a high performing leadership team to strengthen organisational performance, foster collaboration, and drive excellence across the Authority.

You will have:

  • a proven track record in developing and delivering corporate strategy
  • experience at a senior level, managing people, finances and resources
  • proven experience of leading corporate functions including data and digital transformation.
