Job Description

Fire and Emergency New Zealand is a Crown Entity established on 1 July 2017 under the Fire and Emergency Services Act 2017. The role of our new organisation is to reduce unwanted fires, respond to structural and vegetation fires and other emergencies including motor vehicle crashes, medical emergencies, hazardous substance related incidents, natural disasters and support increased community resilience.

This new position has been established to develop, implement and monitor national property policies, standards, systems and processes. While there are some existing processes and systems in place, we are looking for someone who will relish the opportunity to bring their expertise to the role and lead the ongoing development of high quality policies, standards and comprehensive design guidelines that can be applied consistently across the organisation.

You will also take the lead in developing and implementing a Property Asset Management System. This includes defining needs, capturing data and ensuring integration with other systems.

We are looking for someone who has experience in end to end process/system change from design through to implementation, monitoring and reporting. Your technical background will include the development of systems for government practices, and the setup or modification of asset management systems. Ideally you will have a working knowledge of the Building Act and an understanding of the legal responsibilities of the position.

As a person who strives for continuous improvement, you will find this an exciting time to join our new, unified organisation that is made up of passionate people providing vital fire and emergency services to our communities.
