Fixed-term, full-time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Coordinator position at the New Zealand Film and Television School, a subsidiary of Whitireia NZ Ltd. This permanent full-time role is based in Wellington at the new campus - Te Auaha, New Zealand Institute of Creativity corner of Cuba and Dixon Streets.

To be successful in this role you will require excellent communication skills, attention to detail and initiative. You will have a background in film production management or similar, and preferably at least five years' experience in the local screen production industry. The position provides support to the student productions, overseeing the schedule for the programme and liaising with industry professionals who teach at the school. You will also provide assistance to the Head Tutor with grading and the pastoral care of the students.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • ideally at least five years' experience in film production management or a related department
  • a good instinct of pastoral care for the tertiary environment
  • good connection to the Wellington film industry, including current crew and productions
  • an understanding of or connection to the Film School and the programme we offer
  • a positive, friendly and approachable attitude
  • the initiative and the ability to cope effectively with a multi-task workload
  • a passion for working in New Zealand's film industry and seeing the next generation of Filmmakers grow.
