The purpose of the Health and Disability Commissioner (HDC) is to promote and protect health and disability services consumers' rights and to facilitate the fair and efficient resolution of complaints relating to infringement of those rights.
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
The principal role of the Finance Officer is to carry out the financial functions for the Health and Disability Commission in an efficient and effective manner. This includes, but is not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory and weekly payroll.
Key responsibilities:
• Process accounts payable data, EFT payments, and credit card statements.
• Ensure adherence to financial authorizations and validate expenses.
• Manage monthly creditor changes reports, purchase order systems.
• Conduct bank reconciliation.
• Oversee credit control, communication with stakeholders, and order processing for publications resources.
• Support audits, statutory reporting, and maintain data privacy.
• Support the Finance Manager and Executives with projects and tasks when required.
Ko ngā mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitū te haere | What you'll need to be successful:
- At least 3-5 years relevant financial and office administration experience.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft products, in particular Excel and Word.
- Strong organisational skills, ability to work independently, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to operate effectively under pressure whilst still meeting your deadlines, sometimes with conflicting deadlines.
- Effective under pressure with conflicting deadlines.
- Building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Positive attitude, teamwork, personal integrity, and ethical approach.
