  • Fixed-term until August 2018 (0.5 FTE)

Are you passionate about influencing the education of New Zealand's future generation of addictions practitioners? If this sounds like you, then we have an exciting opportunity and would like to hear from you.

Te Hau Tapu me te Puna Oranga, WelTec's School of Social services, is seeking to employ one part time (0.5 FTE) addictions tutor to join our degree teaching team on our journey to becoming Aotearoa's leading education provider.

This position is based in Wellington but working from other WelTec campuses may be required.

The successful candidate must possess the following:

  • Post-graduate qualification in addictions or working towards one
  • Adult teaching qualification or willing to undertake one
  • Specialist knowledge of a range of theories relevant to the addictions field
  • Clinical experience
  • Registration to a professional organisation
  • Experience in international pastoral care (desirable)

The appointee will be required to work within an established team, have the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, knowledge of, and ability to apply concepts to tikanga Māori, and be actively engaged in research.

The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the school's growing research and publication outputs along with actively supporting the school to continue its success in applied degree qualifications.
