We have an exciting opportunity available for a senior Intelligence specialist to join the intelligence team to promote, develop and support the strategic direction of our intelligence products with a focus on working closely with our customers to help activate our intelligence.
This new role sits in the Intelligence and Insight group within Enterprise Design and Integrity, where you will be reporting to, and working alongside, the Intelligence Tech Lead on an exciting compliance project. Primarily this role will be focused on a specific project and is a fixed-term role until 30/06/2025.
A previous background of working in intelligence is essential and will also need an expert level tax knowledge and tax investigation experience would be ideal. This role will interact with other agencies and establishing strong inter-agency relationships is pivotal.
As a senior member of the team you will have the ability to think strategically, bringing together key stakeholders to solve complex problems and deliver intelligence that leads to quality decisions for the organisation.
The role requires recognised expert knowledge and experience across a broad level of topics including Intelligence and Risk frameworks, intervention design, tax, and complex investigations. We are looking for a person who has a natural ability communicating complex concepts in an easy-to-understand way and can use initiative to make things happen.
As the lead of this portfolio, you will be responsible for working closely with our Customer Segment areas to understand their intelligence requirements and help shape our intelligence products to meet customer needs.
With key accountabilities covering but not limited to:
- liaison and coordination with Customer Segments
- reporting on intelligence requirements and products to the Intelligence Leadership team
- maintain oversight of intelligence products and working with the business to help consume them
- providing tax technical advice to the team to assist them with making sure our intelligence is fit for purpose
- work closely with other areas in the IR analytical community to identify opportunities for collaboration and leverage existing capabilities.
This role will be integral to the success of the team and the timely delivery of business-driven initiatives, programmes, and priorities.
To be successful you will also have:
- accounting degree preferably a chartered accountant
- expert tax knowledge and experience in the field of Intelligence and tax investigations, with proven ability to design and deliver quality intelligence
- demonstrated ability to coach and lead others
- the ability to operate through both formal and informal channels across the organisation. You're a pragmatist who can easily build relationships with people and demonstrate your value and expertise
- strong data and analytical skills, with the ability to create, translate and enable the use of data insights to support our intelligence led organisation
- excellent communications skills; you are skilled at taking high-level complex information and translating this into useable information
- a curious outlook with a desire to learn and grow in the role; the ability to look at information and intelligence from a system-wide view, seeking new ways of doing things or informing new ways of thinking about intelligence and how it is presented to stakeholders
- project management experience that demonstrates strong leadership, personal integrity and sensitivity for the information you have access to.
The successful applicant will be required to undergo a full reference and security check, and must hold or be able to obtain, and maintain, a Government Security Clearance to Secret level.
