We have an 8-month fixed-term opportunity for a Domain Specialist (L1) in our Internal Communications team at Inland Revenue Te Tari Taake.

In internal communications we manage a range of IR-wide communications channels. We are excellent writers who really care about our audiences getting the right information at the right time and on the right channel.

Relationships really matter to us. We influence across the organisation, including at executive leadership level, helping to join the dots and ensure risks are effectively managed. We also play a critical role in crisis management, ensuring clear communication to all IRD people around New Zealand.

The Opportunity - Ara Whiwhi Mahi

The Domain Specialist (L1) role creates communications plans and products, including intranet stories. It plays an active role in the continuous improvement of our internal channels and providing strategic advice on communications to our internal stakeholders.

About you - Mōu

To be successful in this role you will possess the following attributes:

  • An excellent and confident writer who is a plain language champion and understands how to convey complex information simply
  • Experience in internal communications best practice, channels, and frameworks
  • Having an eye for continuous improvement, looking for innovative ways to support the internal communications team and our internal customers
  • The confidence to work with leaders and the ability to build and leverage positive relationships
  • Energy, creativity and innovation to make communications products that resonate with our IR audiences
  • The ability to understand the big picture while delivering on the detail
  • Experience writing communications plans that identify risks so communications campaigns flow logically and build strong engagement
  • The ability to solve problems in a complex environment
